Breast Reduction in Portland, OR
What is a breast reduction?
Breast reduction surgery is a procedure to eliminate excess tissue of the breast to achieve a breast size more proportionate to the patient’s body. This will also diminish any discomfort associated with large breasts.
During this procedure, Dr. Bohley will administer either intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. Incisions will then be made. There are three general incision patterns that can be used for breast reduction surgery. The first, a circumareolar pattern, is made around the areola. The next, a T-shaped incision, is made around the areola and down towards the breast fold. The third, an anchor incision, is made around the areola, down towards the breast fold, and along the fold of the breast.
After the incision is made, the nipple will be repositioned and underlying tissues will be reduced, lifted, and shaped. Incisions will then be closed, and bandages will be applied.
Am I a good candidate for breast reduction?
Ideal candidates for breast reduction surgery are physically healthy, non-smokers with realistic expectations for the outcome of their procedure. Those who are experiencing back, neck, or shoulder pain due to the weight of their overly sized breasts may be able to benefit from this procedure.
If you live near the Portland, Oregon, or Vancouver, Washington areas and have been suffering from the side effects of large and heavy breasts and are in overall good health, book a consultation today with Dr. Bohley.

What results can I expect from my breast reduction?
It is very rare that a patient does not experience symptomatic relief after their breast reduction surgery. With breast size reduction, you may experience relief from pain, headaches, sleep apnea, neck arthritis, improved skeletal stability, and improvement in lung functions. Breast reduction is a wonderful surgery for women who have been suffering from the symptoms of heavy breasts. Results from breast reduction surgery are long-lasting.
