What is Microneedling Treatment Like?
Microneedling treatment is a relatively straightforward procedure. It will start with the application of a numbing gel to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the procedure. Once that kicks in, we’ll apply the microneedling wand to the skin. The very thin needles in the device will puncture your skin as the device is rolled over the skin. Treatment can take anywhere from 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area and the number of treatment areas.
What is Recovery From Microneedling Like?
As microneedling is an outpatient treatment, you will be able to go home immediately afterward. Your skin may be red and swollen, but those side effects will diminish on their own within a few days. You’ll want to stay out of the sun, avoid strenuous activities, and avoid makeup and harsh skincare products until your skin fully heals. You’ll also want to regularly apply sunscreen.
When Will I See the Results?
It typically takes a few weeks before you see results of microneedling as your skin heals and collagen and elastin build up. You may need multiple treatment sessions to see the results you’re looking for and to maintain those results.
